IMPORTANT NOTICE
I need and solicit your input as a resident of Pahrump in order to represent you well. Specifically I need your views and comments, and supporting reasons, about any matter of concern to you that pertains to the business of the Town. The best way to convey your views and comments is to appear at the Town Board meetings and present your comments during the public comment segment at those meetings. The Pahrump Town Board meets twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7:00 pm.
Realizing that everyone cannot attend and participate at the meetings I want to provide you with an alternative means of participating in the Town’s governance by emailing me with your concerns.
The agenda and minutes of the Town Boards meetings can be found at the Town’s website. There you simply click on the 2011 Agendas & Minutes link which will display another webpage which permits you to access the Agenda for the next upcoming meeting, Minutes of meetings, and the Backup documents relevant to agenda items of the meeting.
Your correspondence to me by email will be transmitted to the Town Manager for inclusion in the Backup documents for the next meeting. Your comments to me via email will be made public by inclusion in the Backup documents. Anonymous emails will be ignored. You must include your name, street address, phone number and email address in your email. That will permit me to respond to you about your comment or concern.
I must also receive your input no later than 5:00PM eight (8) days prior to the Town Board Meeting. I can also be reached by telephone at (775) 764-0949.
PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR TOWN BOARD. We are here to serve YOU, all of you. We can’t function without hearing from and listening to you, your ideas, your thoughts, and your desires for the future of our Town.
I ask that you contact not only me but all five of us to ensure that we are all “hearing” the same things. If we do something that you consider “stupid” because we were “ill informed” and you had the information but did not share it with us, then blame yourselves for not enlightening us. We are NOT all-seeing and all-knowing but, we are all-caring about our Town. We truly are Civil Servants because we donate our entire annual salaries to YOU, the Town of Pahrump. Look over the agenda for the next Town Board meeting. If you have questions or recommendations please get them to us BEFORE the meeting so we can provide a ‘researched’ response. In many cases, you (or an Advisory Board) will be the only experts we have. So, work with us so we can work together for the betterment of the Town.
